Chronology of cameras Sunpet Industries
Sunpet Industries Company was established in Hong Kong in 1972 and became Sunpet Industries Limited in 1980. The current factory was set up in Guangzhou in 1983. Sunpet was the first manufacturer in Hong Kong to install machinery for the production of plastic aspherical lenses in 1994.
The exact date of the first production of this model is not known, but it's possible that it has been in production for some time. It is a very simple device with a shutter speed and aperture, but there are many versions of it. It was sold or offered as a promotional item under the manufacturer's name. It was manufactured in black, silver, bright red, magenta, pink, blue, and yellow (and possibly more).
It is also known by many names and sometimes without any name at all.
Did you think you were looking at a promotional camera for the Japanese brand of musical instruments (and motorcycles)? Wrong—it’s Yahama, not Yamaha.
It’s very likely that the name was chosen with the intention of misleading.
